OUR BEGINNING

The History of Love Fellowship Baptist Church

In the Fall of 2001, Rev. Bryan R. Price sensed the call of God to plant a new church in the city of Romeoville, Illinois. After seeking the Lord earnestly in prayer and sharing his heart with his wife Traci and his pastor, Rev. William M. Rorer, Bryan and Traci attended training sessions for church planters provided by the Illinois Baptist State Association of the Southern Baptist Convention. One year later, with the approval of his pastor, Bryan assembled the Wills and Frazier families of Alpha Missionary Baptist Church of Bolingbrook, Illinois, which would lend its faith support as the mother church.

After sharing with the Wills and the Frazier families the vision that God had given him regarding the great work needed in Romeoville and the surrounding area, they formed a core group and began holding weekly prayer and Bible studies in the basement of the Fountaindale Public Library in Romeoville, Illinois. On Sunday April 20, 2003, Love Fellowship Baptist Church held their first public worship service at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Romeoville, Illinois. There were 135 people in attendance.

Since that day the Lord has shown Himself faithful. Our journey has been challenging but exciting. God led us from a hotel, to an elementary school, to a converted warehouse; and in 2010 God provided the means for us to purchase our own facility. During the course of our journey we have had the joy and privilege of seeing people of all walks of life come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. People are growing in their faith, developing meaningful relationships, and are becoming increasingly active in missions. We believe God has blessed us abundantly so that we would be a blessing to others, pointing people to Jesus and sharing with them the love of God known only in Christ.

Love Fellowship Baptist Church is a church with a clear vision from God, recognizing its mission to "Reach People and Help them Grow." We believe God has called us to make an eternal impact in our community and throughout the world by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are working together with the sure expectation that the Lord Jesus will see to it that His plan and His will are accomplished through us in a manner that will bring glory and honor to His name.

"Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it..."  Psalm 127:1
